Biography
Alesana is a post-hardcore rock band hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. They were formed sometime in October of 2004 although some of the band’s members have already been playing together in Baltimore, Maryland. The move was needed to become a part of the more active post hardcore music scene in Raleigh.
Alesana was the first band to join a new label, Tragic Hero Records in 2005. from the same label the band releases their first EP, Try This With Your Eyes Closed in June of the same year. They followed up the release with a tour of the United States which included playing at some music festivals.
The band then followed up in 2006 with a release of their first full-length album, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax. The said album took inspiration from various characters in Greek mythology. Sometime in late 2006, the band went on to sign with Fearless Records from where their LP was re-released in March of 2007.
In 2007, Alesana went to play on the whole Warped Tour and is set to rejoin the said tour in 2008. their first full-length album entered into the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and peaked at the 44th spot. The band released their second album, Where Myth Fades to Legend on June 3, 2008. The band is also going to their own headlining tour to promote their new album.
